After I got COVID the first time, I experienced a significant shift in my tinnitus, which is basically lifelong. The right side went to the high screechy side, while the left dropped to a low frequency with a very different sound quality, more of a roar than a screech. I have since started meditating on my tinnitus. There is definitely a spiritual element to it, and balancing frequencies causes rather radical shifts in my body and mind. I "listen" to the frequencies and can "hear" where I need to focus, usually in my COVID-ravaged body but also often on emotions or relationships. I was a little frightened to focus my attention on the ringing at first, but it's an incredibly powerful meditation.
